Two weeks is the perfect amount of time to really indulge in Tanzania's culture and beauty. This 14 night adventure during the dry season brings you through all the most reputable parks in the northern safari circuit.
Your adventure begins! A TAT representative will meet you at the airport. Check into the lodge for a night of rest before we hit our first national park in the morning.
After breakfast at your lodge, prepare to experience Arusha National Park. Enjoy a morning guided bushwalk, followed by a picnic lunch over Momella Lake. Afterwards, we'll embark on an evening game drive
A must for wildlife enthusiasts, taking a guided bushwalk tour is a fantastic way to get up close and personal with some of the area's most commonly spotted wildlife. An armed park ranger will guide you and your party through the African bush, granting you endless opportunities to witness the region's diverse flora and fauna in action.
After an authentic Tanzanian breakfast, we'll depart for Tarangire National Park (2.5-3 hour transit). Enjoy afternoon game drives and discuss detailed plans for the next day with your guide over dinner.
Spend a full day at Tarangire National Park – follow your ideal schedule for game drive and choice of picnic lunch or hot lunch at the lodge. Then, see the night come alive with nocturnal wildlife on a night game drive. End your day by discussing detailed plans for following day with your guide.
Drive out to Mto Wa Mbu Village. Spend a day on a cultural tour, exploring a banana plantation and enjoying lunch with a local family. Prepare for an immersive experience unlike like any other.
Today you will have the pleasure of enjoying an entire day full of cultural immersion at Mto Wa Mbu Village. This village is the host to over 100 different tribes. Here you will immerse yourself into the culture joining in on many different tribal activities. In addition there is over 30 species of bananas here as this is probably the banana capital of the word. Experience the banana plantation or even some banana beer. You will have lunch underneath the banana trees and get to visit a local family to truly get an understanding of daily life in Tanzania!
Drive out to the Ngorongoro Crater. Descend 600m into the crater and experience the largest above-water intact caldera (collapsed volcano) on the planet! Explore the crater floor on game drives and guided bushwalks.
Visit Olduvai Gorge one of the oldest and most significant paleoanthropological dig sites in the world. Continue en route to Serengeti National Park.
Located in the North of Tanzania, nestled between Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti, lies one of the most important historical places on Earth. Mary Leakey, a famous archaeologist, is credited with most of the discoveries at Olduvai Gorge. Here, Leakey unearthed the earliest signs of human technology — this paleoanthropological site held the earliest known remains of ancient, tool-wielding humans. Archaeological knowledge gained from the Olduvai Gorge has changed our understanding of human origin forever. A nearby museum contains additional evidence and explanations for history buffs and archaeology enthusiasts.
Begin the morning with a hot air balloon safari. Then, spend a full day exploring the world’s most famous savanna, Serengeti National Park. Afterwards, discuss detailed plans for following day with your guide.

Drive to the Northern Serengeti and get ready to experience one of the most amazing shows on earth, the Mara River crossing.
The Mara River, which flows through the Northern Serengeti before entering Lake Victoria in the West, is without a doubt, the centerpiece of the Kogatende region of the Serengeti. This area explodes with activity during The Great Migration, when thousands upon thousands of wildebeests and zebras battle oppressive currents and Nile crocodiles to reach the opposite side of the Mara River. This event is best observed from late July until early September.
Take any number of optional activities including Blue Safari, Spice Island Tour, Prison Island Tour, and so much more — or, simply spend your time relaxing on the beach!
In 1893, the former British Prime Minister of Zanzibar purchased the island to build a prison complex on it. However, Prison Island is a bit of a misnomer, as the island never served its intended purpose! Instead, it was used as a quarantine station for yellow fever cases. Today, you can explore this beautiful island by walking along its spotless beaches or simply relaxing by the shore.
Once of Zanzibar's most popular attractions, a Spice Island tour gives visitors the opportunity to see spice farms and learn about the history of the spice trade. Spices grown in the archipelago include cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamom, turmeric, ginger root, vanilla pods, cocoa, licorice, breadfruit, saffron, iodine, ylang ylang, lemongrass, and every form of pepper you can think of.
