Yes. Our US office is in Robert, Louisiana, led by co-owner Ryan Barker, and our Tanzania office is in Arusha, led by co-owner and guide Said Kambelenje. You plan with a US-based team and travel with Tanzanian guides.
Yes. Custom safaris are private: your group has its own Land Cruiser and guide, and the itinerary is built around your dates, interests and budget. We also run one scheduled group trip each January for solo travelers.
June to October is the dry season, with the easiest wildlife viewing and peak prices. January to March is calving season in Ndutu and the southern Serengeti. April and May bring the long rains, with fewer visitors and lower prices.
For a first safari, the Northern Circuit: Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire and Lake Manyara. Add Ndutu from January to March for calving season, or the Northern Serengeti from July to September for Mara River crossings.
Seven nights covers the essentials: Tarangire, the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Ten to fourteen nights lets you follow the Great Migration, add a cultural visit or finish on Zanzibar. Our sample itineraries run 7, 10, 14 and 21 nights.
Book 6 to 18 months ahead for the best lodges, especially for July to September and the January to March calving season. Shorter-notice trips, about a month out, are sometimes possible.
Yes. Most travelers fly from the Serengeti or Arusha to Zanzibar for a few nights of beach time, Stone Town and snorkeling at the end of their safari. We plan the flights and beach stay as part of one private trip.
