Should I tip my tour guides in Tanzania?

While it is not obligatory, leaving a tip for exceptional service is always appreciated. Here are some general ranges for tipping each day, based on the number of people in your party:

• 1-3 people – $30 per person per day
• 4-5 people - $24 per person per day
• 6 or more people – $20 per person per day

At most lodges and camps, there is a tip box located at the front desk. We recommend using it, as opposed to tipping individuals. When on outings, excursions, or camping trips, we advise you to tip safari or activity guides, porters, cooks, and anyone else who needs to be recognized for a job well done!
